PA-Based American PowerNet Shares Expertise on Energy Deregulation at International Conference
American PowerNet Executive Presents Workshop on How to Procure Electricity to Attendees of the International Building & Office Managers Association Conference.
Wyomissing, PA June 28, 2000American PowerNet president R. Scott Helm last week was featured as an expert on the panel discussing the status of deregulation in energy markets at the 93rd Building & Office Managers Association (BOMA) International Conference held at the San Diego Convention Center June 18 - 23.
The panel presentation, Charge It - An Update on Utility Deregulation, was attended by building and property owners, maintenance managers, administrators, and company CEOs and owners interested in obtaining best cost energy agreements for electricity. The strategy of aggregated purchasing via the Internet was emphasized as an effective means for energy purchasing.
"As deregulation of the energy industry continues at its rapid pace, there is an enormous business opportunity to effectively reduce costs through the pooling of purchasing power," said Helm during the presentation. "And, by combining the savings inherent in customer aggregation with online purchasing, commercial, industrial, and government customers can procure energy at the best-cost available."
American PowerNet provides online energy procurement through its website at www.americanpowernet.com, and was the first national energy procurement aggregator to utilize the electronic commerce services of the Enermetrix.com Exchange. American PowerNet joined the exchange in anticipation of creating its own energy marketplace, allowing its commercial, industrial, and government customers to procure best-cost natural gas and electricity through aggregated purchasing pools.
